Set of 4 - Cutlery Rest - Multicolor
Product Description
A set of four stoneware cutlery rests in mixed colours, made in Germany.
The form is small and bar-like with two contoured grooves to hold a knife and fork, or chopsticks. The proportion keeps cutlery off the cloth between courses and reads as a quiet, considered detail of the table setting. The shape is hand-pinched on the wheel, so each piece carries minor variations in length and curve.
Each rest is shaped from stoneware clay and fired at 1220 °C. At this temperature the body vitrifies and becomes food-safe without further sealing. The four pieces carry different glossy glazes drawn from the wider VBC palette — the specific combination shifts from set to set, so no two boxes are identical. Slight differences in glaze depth occur from piece to piece within each colour.
For multi-course meals at home, for chopsticks at a Japanese table setting, or as a small object alongside the saucer for soy or condiments.
4 pieces (mixed colours) · approx. L 8 cm · W 2,5 cm · H 1,5 cm · 150 g total · Stoneware, fired at 1220 °C · Four different glossy glazes · Dishwasher safe · Made in Germany

Every item is handcrafted in our pottery studio in Frankfurt by our workshop team of six.
It takes about 10 to 14 days to make each piece, depending on the season and weather. The process includes ten steps: wedging, throwing, trimming, stamping, sponging, first firing, sanding, glazing, second firing, and grinding, ensuring that each piece is ready to use.
We put a lot of care and precision into our work because any oversight means starting over, so our team collaborates closely, ensuring that every step runs smoothly. We focus on creating durable and functional ceramics that bring our love for this craft into your everyday life.

We focus on creating pottery that is both durable and crafted in a minimalistic yet cheerful style. Alongside our seasonal collections, we offer a core collection of timeless items that allow customers to build a sustainable collection over time.
