Matcha pouring bowls from the Viola Beuscher studio: wide, shallow bowls with a small spout, made to whisk matcha in and pour it out cleanly. Each one is handmade from German Westerwald stoneware and fired at 1220 °C. From raw clay to the finished piece, it takes 14 days and 12 steps.
Size and use
The bowl measures Ø 11 cm and H 6.5 cm. The width gives the bamboo whisk room to move, and the spout sends the matcha into any cup instead of running down the outside of the bowl.
Colours
Three finishes: Creme under a transparent glossy glaze, the airbrushed pink-to-red Gradient, and Otis, partly dipped in glossy black against the bare stoneware. Every spout is pulled by hand, so no two bowls are shaped exactly alike.
Care
Fired until the body vitrifies, the bowls stay food-safe without further sealing and go in the dishwasher.
