Matcha Pouring Bowl – Otis
Product Description
A stoneware matcha pouring bowl from Viola Beuscher with a partial glossy black glaze on the exterior, made in Germany.
The form is a wide, shallow bowl with a small pouring spout, Ø 11 cm and H 6.5 cm — built to whisk matcha directly in the bowl, then pour it cleanly into any cup.
Each bowl is thrown on the wheel from stoneware clay sourced from the German Westerwald, shaped by hand, and fired at 1220 °C after 14 days of craftsmanship and 12 work steps. The exterior is partially finished with a deep, glossy black glaze; the interior carries a transparent glossy glaze. No two bowls are identical: the line where the black glaze meets the raw stoneware shifts from piece to piece.
For whisking and pouring ceremonial matcha at home, part of a calm daily ritual.

Every item is handcrafted in our pottery studio in Frankfurt by our workshop team of six.
It takes about 10 to 14 days to make each piece, depending on the season and weather. The process includes ten steps: wedging, throwing, trimming, stamping, sponging, first firing, sanding, glazing, second firing, and grinding, ensuring that each piece is ready to use.
We put a lot of care and precision into our work because any oversight means starting over, so our team collaborates closely, ensuring that every step runs smoothly. We focus on creating durable and functional ceramics that bring our love for this craft into your everyday life.

We focus on creating pottery that is both durable and crafted in a minimalistic yet cheerful style. Alongside our seasonal collections, we offer a core collection of timeless items that allow customers to build a sustainable collection over time.
We appreciate our community's feedback and use it to inform our collections, ensuring that our pieces resonate with those who use them while remaining true to our vision.
