The Matcha Collection is the studio's line for the matcha ritual: cups, pouring bowls, whisk holders, a sifter, and the tools and teas that go with them. Every ceramic piece is thrown by hand on the potter's wheel in the Viola Beuscher studio from German Westerwald stoneware, finished over 14 days across 12 work steps, and fired at 1220 °C.
What is in the collection
The ceramic core is a matcha cup wide enough to whisk in, a pouring bowl for preparing and pouring, and a whisk holder that keeps a bamboo chasen in shape while it dries. Alongside them are a sifter with its own saucer, a stainless steel matcha spoon, and a bamboo whisk. Complete sets pair the ceramics with a tea, and every piece is also sold on its own.
Colours
The ceramics run in four finishes: Creme, the airbrushed pink-to-red Gradient, a deep black Otis, and a solid Red. Because the airbrushing is guided by hand, the reach and blend of colour shift from piece to piece, so no two cups carry the same surface.
The teas
The teas are organic and come in 30 g tins, each with a 30 g refill so the tin stays in use: Organic Ceremonial Matcha, Organic Ceremonial Matcha Supreme, a Limited Edition Uji Matcha, and a roasted Organic Hojicha Powder for a lower-caffeine cup.
Made to be used daily
The stoneware is fired until the body vitrifies, so it stays food-safe without further sealing and goes in the dishwasher. The matcha cup measures Ø 9 cm and H 6.5 cm, wide enough to whisk in and deep enough to drink from, hot or over ice, so whisking and drinking happen in the same vessel.
