Product Description
A stoneware matcha cup from the Viola Beuscher studio with a bold glossy red glaze inside and out, made in Germany.
The form is a wide, rounded cup with a stable base, Ø 9 cm and H 6.5 cm, holding 250 ml. It is wide enough to whisk matcha in and deep enough to drink from, so preparing and drinking happen in the same vessel, hot or over ice.
Each cup is handmade in Germany from grey stoneware clay sourced from the German Westerwald and fired at 1220 °C. From raw clay to the finished piece, it takes 14 days and 12 steps. It is then fully glazed in a bold, glossy red, inside and out. The ceramic pieces are food-safe and dishwasher safe.
Because every cup is handmade in Germany and glazed by hand, the depth of the red and the way it breaks over the rim differ slightly from piece to piece.
