Handmade tea cups from the Viola Beuscher studio in Germany, with subtle shapes, soft glazes, and a comfortable volume. Every cup is thrown on the potter's wheel from stoneware clay and fired at 1220 °C, so the body vitrifies and stays food-safe without further sealing.
Size and use
The Nomi tea cup measures Ø 8 cm and H 8 cm and holds 260 ml, an everyday size for a full cup, whether loose leaf or bagged. The open form with straight walls lets the tea cool at a steady rate rather than all at once, and the cups are handleless, so the warmth reaches the hands.
Colours and surfaces
The tea cups come with hand-painted black brush strokes on raw clay, with a matte unglazed exterior in grey stoneware, or fully glazed in ice blue. Because each cup is finished by hand, the surface shifts slightly from piece to piece.
Sets and care
The tea cups are sold individually and as sets of four, and they sit alongside the coffee and espresso cups of the same series on one table. All of them are dishwasher safe and need no special care.
