The Handmade Ceramic Coffee Cup Sage & Gold is crafted in our Frankfurt studio as part of a limited collaboration with the Düsseldorf-based jewelry brand Ariane Ernst. This Handmade Ceramic Coffee Cup combines a clean cylindrical form with a fine gold detail that is painted by hand, reflecting a shared approach to craftsmanship and material precision.
Each Handmade Ceramic Coffee Cup is made from high-quality stoneware and shaped by hand before being fired at high temperatures. The soft sage glaze is applied manually and develops a smooth, even surface with subtle variations in tone. The gold line is individually hand-painted on each cup, which means that its position and thickness may vary slightly from piece to piece. These differences are part of the handmade process and give each Handmade Ceramic Coffee Cup an individual character while maintaining a consistent overall appearance.
The proportions are designed for everyday use and suit a range of coffee preparations. The cup works well for espresso, flat white, cappuccino or filter coffee. The straight walls and stable base create a clear and functional shape, while the smooth rim supports a comfortable drinking experience.
Made from high-fired stoneware and finished with food safe glazes, the cup is durable and suitable for regular use. Due to the hand-painted gold detail, hand washing is recommended to preserve the finish over time. Each Handmade Ceramic Coffee Cup is inspected before leaving our studio to ensure quality and consistency.

Every item is handcrafted in our pottery studio in Frankfurt by our workshop team of six.
It takes about 10 to 14 days to make each piece, depending on the season and weather. The process includes ten steps: wedging, throwing, trimming, stamping, sponging, first firing, sanding, glazing, second firing, and grinding, ensuring that each piece is ready to use.
We put a lot of care and precision into our work because any oversight means starting over, so our team collaborates closely, ensuring that every step runs smoothly. We focus on creating durable and functional ceramics that bring our love for this craft into your everyday life.
