We throw the Otis matcha cup by hand in our studio from grey stoneware – handmade in Germany. Inside sits a clear, glossy, food-safe glaze; outside it is partly dipped in a glossy black glaze, so the raw stoneware and the deep black meet in a calm contrast. It holds matcha beautifully, hot or over ice, and turns your daily bowl into a small, mindful moment. Each piece is made individually, so small variations make yours one of a kind.

It takes about 10 to 14 days to make each piece, depending on the season and weather. The process includes ten steps: wedging, throwing, trimming, stamping, sponging, first firing, sanding, glazing, second firing, and grinding, ensuring that each piece is ready to use.
We put a lot of care and precision into our work because any oversight means starting over, so our team collaborates closely, ensuring that every step runs smoothly. We focus on creating durable and functional ceramics that bring our love for this craft into your everyday life.
