Product Description
A stoneware tea cup from the Nomi series, painted by hand with brush strokes on the exterior, made in Germany.
The form is open with straight walls and a stable base, Ø 8 cm and H 8 cm, holding 260 ml — an everyday size for tea. Nomi means 'to drink' in Japanese; the series carries that spare, everyday character.
Each cup is thrown on the wheel from grey stoneware clay and food-safe glazes, fired so the body vitrifies and stays food-safe without further sealing. The interior carries a transparent glossy finish; on the exterior, brush strokes are painted onto the clay. Because each cup is brushed by hand, the rhythm and density of the strokes vary from piece to piece — no two cups are identical.
For loose-leaf or bagged tea in a quiet moment, or alongside the rest of the Nomi series.

It takes about 10 to 14 days to make each piece, depending on the season and weather. The process includes ten steps: wedging, throwing, trimming, stamping, sponging, first firing, sanding, glazing, second firing, and grinding, ensuring that each piece is ready to use.
