Espresso Cup - Splash Red
Product Description
A stoneware espresso cup from the Happy Edition with a single hand-poured red splash on the exterior, made in Germany.
The form is cylindrical with straight walls and a stable base, Ø 5.5 cm and H 5 cm, holding 75 ml. That is the volume of a classic single espresso or ristretto.
Each cup is thrown on the wheel from stoneware clay and fired at 1220 °C. At this temperature the body vitrifies and becomes food-safe without further sealing. A bright red glaze is poured by hand onto the exterior in a free, organic movement, creating a splash that wraps partially around the body. The interior carries a transparent glossy glaze. Because the red is poured rather than painted, no two cups are identical: the spread, density, and edge of the splash vary from piece to piece, while the surrounding raw stoneware reads matte against the glossy red.
For espresso and ristretto at home or in a café setting, paired with the matching Espresso Cups or the pieces from Summer Days.
