Matcha Cup – Otis
Product Description
A stoneware matcha cup from Viola Beuscher with a partial glossy black glaze on the exterior, made in Germany.
The form is a wide, rounded cup with a stable base, Ø 9 cm and H 6.5 cm — sized to whisk and drink matcha directly from the same vessel, hot or over ice.
Each cup is thrown on the wheel from grey stoneware clay and finished by hand: the interior carries a clear, glossy, food-safe glaze; the exterior is partly dipped in a glossy black glaze, so the raw stoneware and the deep black meet in a calm contrast. No two cups are identical — small variations in the dip line make each piece its own.
For ceremonial matcha, hot or over ice, as part of a daily mindful ritual.

Every item is handcrafted in our pottery studio in Frankfurt by our workshop team of six.
It takes about 10 to 14 days to make each piece, depending on the season and weather. The process includes ten steps: wedging, throwing, trimming, stamping, sponging, first firing, sanding, glazing, second firing, and grinding, ensuring that each piece is ready to use.
We put a lot of care and precision into our work because any oversight means starting over, so our team collaborates closely, ensuring that every step runs smoothly. We focus on creating durable and functional ceramics that bring our love for this craft into your everyday life.

We focus on creating pottery that is both durable and crafted in a minimalistic yet cheerful style. Alongside our seasonal collections, we offer a core collection of timeless items that allow customers to build a sustainable collection over time.
We appreciate our community's feedback and use it to inform our collections, ensuring that our pieces resonate with those who use them while remaining true to our vision.
