Product Description
A stoneware matcha cup from the Viola Beuscher studio, finished in a transparent glossy glaze over a creme stoneware body and made in Germany.
The form is a wide, rounded cup with a stable base, Ø 9 cm and H 6.5 cm, holding 250 ml. It is wide enough to whisk matcha in and deep enough to drink from, so preparing and drinking happen in the same vessel, hot or over ice.
Each cup is handmade in Germany from stoneware clay sourced from the German Westerwald and fired at 1220 °C. From raw clay to the finished piece, it takes 14 days and 12 steps. The ceramic pieces are food-safe and dishwasher safe.
The transparent glaze lets the warm creme tone of the clay show through. Because every cup is handmade in Germany, the wall thickness and the way the glaze settles differ slightly from piece to piece.
