Our organic ceremonial Uji matcha as a refill, a single-estate matcha exclusively imported by matchasome, sourced from a small tea farmer in Uji, Kyoto, and leaving Japan here for the first time.
It is best enjoyed straight: 2 g of powder whisked with 70 to 80 ml of hot water, no hotter than 80 °C, so the amino acids stay intact and the tea keeps its sweetness rather than turning bitter.
The powder is packed with amino acids (L-theanine), antioxidants (EGCG), vitamins and minerals, with a vibrant green colour that carries through to the taste: clean, velvety and lightly sweet.
It is produced in small volume by a single farmer, so availability can run out ahead of the next harvest. This is the refill: 30 g, roughly 15 servings, meant to top up the 30 g tin rather than replace it.
