Palo Santo Set
Product Description
A set for burning palo santo: a hand-thrown stoneware dish, three palo santo sticks and a small ceramic holder to rest the wood on.
The dish is made from grey stoneware clay in our studio in Germany and glazed all over in a transparent glossy glaze, so ash and resin wipe off.
The holders are made in small numbers and no two are the same. We pick one at random for each order, which is why the one you receive will not match a photograph exactly.
The palo santo (Bursera graveolens) comes from Peru. Our supplier cuts only the heartwood of naturally fallen trees, works under the government rules that regulate the collection, processing and export of palo santo, and contributes to replanting. Three sticks are included, each roughly 10 × 1 × 1 cm.
Palo santo is burned for its scent. Hold a flame to the tip until it catches, let it burn a few seconds, then blow it out and set the stick on the dish so the smoke can rise. A stick can be relit many times over.

Every item is handcrafted in our pottery studio in Frankfurt by our workshop team of six.
It takes about 10 to 14 days to make each piece, depending on the season and weather. The process includes ten steps: wedging, throwing, trimming, stamping, sponging, first firing, sanding, glazing, second firing, and grinding, ensuring that each piece is ready to use.
