Pedestal Bowl - Aleah
Product Description
A stoneware pedestal bowl on a raised foot, thrown by hand from grey clay, made in Germany.
The bowl is wide and open on a tall foot, Ø 27 cm and H 13 cm, weighing 1.9 kg. The raised foot lifts the bowl clear of the surface and gives it presence on a table or a sideboard, and the width takes a full load of fruit, bread, or a mixed salad for a larger table. Away from food it serves as a catch-all for keys and post in the hallway.
Each bowl is thrown on the potter's wheel from grey stoneware clay and fired at 1220 °C. At this temperature the body vitrifies and becomes food-safe without further sealing. The interior carries a glossy food-safe glaze, while the exterior is left raw and unglazed, so the matte grain of the fired clay stays open to the touch.
For fruit and bread on the table, salad for a group, or as a sculptural catch-all bowl in an entryway.

Every item is handcrafted in our pottery studio in Frankfurt by our workshop team of six.
It takes about 10 to 14 days to make each piece, depending on the season and weather. The process includes ten steps: wedging, throwing, trimming, stamping, sponging, first firing, sanding, glazing, second firing, and grinding, ensuring that each piece is ready to use.
We put a lot of care and precision into our work because any oversight means starting over, so our team collaborates closely, ensuring that every step runs smoothly. We focus on creating durable and functional ceramics that bring our love for this craft into your everyday life.

We focus on creating pottery that is both durable and crafted in a minimalistic yet cheerful style. Alongside our seasonal collections, we offer a core collection of timeless items that allow customers to build a sustainable collection over time.
We appreciate our community's feedback and use it to inform our collections, ensuring that our pieces resonate with those who use them while remaining true to our vision.
