Product Description
A stoneware espresso cup with a glossy blue glaze and a fine hand-painted gold line, made in Germany as part of a limited collaboration with the Düsseldorf jewellery brand Ariane Ernst.
The form is small and cylindrical with straight walls and a stable base, Ø 5,5 cm and H 5 cm, holding 75 ml — the contained volume of a classic single espresso. The piece translates the precision of jewellery into a functional ceramic object at the smallest tableware scale.
Each cup is thrown on the wheel from stoneware clay and fired at 1220 °C. At this temperature the body vitrifies and becomes food-safe without further sealing. A glossy blue glaze covers the cup inside and out. After firing, a fine gold line is painted by hand around the body in a second pass. Because the line is drawn by hand, its placement and weight vary slightly from piece to piece; this is part of the collaboration’s character.
Hand-wash recommended to preserve the gold detail over time. For a single espresso or ristretto, or as a small object that crosses ceramics and jewellery.

It takes about 10 to 14 days to make each piece, depending on the season and weather. The process includes ten steps: wedging, throwing, trimming, stamping, sponging, first firing, sanding, glazing, second firing, and grinding, ensuring that each piece is ready to use.
