The Handmade Ceramic Espresso Cup Sage & Gold is crafted in our Frankfurt studio as part of a limited collaboration with the Düsseldorf-based jewelry brand Ariane Ernst. This Handmade Ceramic Espresso Cup combines a compact ceramic form with a fine gold detail that is painted by hand, reflecting a shared approach to craftsmanship and precision.
Each Handmade Ceramic Espresso Cup is made from high-quality stoneware and shaped by hand before being fired at high temperatures. The soft sage glaze is applied manually and develops a smooth, even surface with subtle variations in tone. A fine gold line is painted by hand around the body of the cup, creating a clear visual structure. The exact placement and thickness of this line may vary slightly from piece to piece, which is characteristic of the handmade process and gives each Handmade Ceramic Espresso Cup its individual character.
The proportions are specifically designed for espresso. The compact size supports heat retention and allows for a balanced drinking experience. The straight walls and stable base create a clear and functional form, while the smooth rim ensures a comfortable feel when drinking.
Made from high-fired stoneware and finished with food safe glazes, the cup is durable and suitable for regular use. Due to the hand-painted gold detail, hand washing is recommended to preserve the finish over time. Each Handmade Ceramic Espresso Cup is inspected before leaving our studio to ensure consistent quality.

Every item is handcrafted in our pottery studio in Frankfurt by our workshop team of six.
It takes about 10 to 14 days to make each piece, depending on the season and weather. The process includes ten steps: wedging, throwing, trimming, stamping, sponging, first firing, sanding, glazing, second firing, and grinding, ensuring that each piece is ready to use.
We put a lot of care and precision into our work because any oversight means starting over, so our team collaborates closely, ensuring that every step runs smoothly. We focus on creating durable and functional ceramics that bring our love for this craft into your everyday life.
