Pedestal Bowl Aleah Creme
Product Description
A small stoneware pedestal bowl from the Aleah series in creme clay, raised on a footed base and glazed clear and glossy throughout, made in Germany by Viola Beuscher.
The bowl measures Ø 17 cm and H 5 cm and weighs about 550 g. It is wider and flatter than the rosa version of the same series, so it works less as a container and more as a raised surface: a place to set fruit, a few pieces of bread, or jewellery at the end of the day.
Each piece is thrown on the wheel from creme stoneware clay, with the foot thrown separately and joined while both parts are still soft. A clear glossy glaze covers the whole piece inside and out, which leaves the warm creme tone of the clay visible rather than covering it with colour.
The body is fired until it vitrifies, so the bowl stays food-safe without further sealing. Because the foot is joined by hand, the pedestal height varies slightly between pieces.

It takes about 10 to 14 days to make each piece, depending on the season and weather. The process includes ten steps: wedging, throwing, trimming, stamping, sponging, first firing, sanding, glazing, second firing, and grinding, ensuring that each piece is ready to use.
