Set of 2 - Breakfast Plate - New Dawn
Product Description
Two stoneware breakfast plates finished with a sprayed gradient that moves from red through pink into lilac, made in Germany.
The form is cylindrical and flat, with a vertical edge rather than a curved rim. At Ø 19 cm each plate holds a bread roll with butter and jam, a slice of cake with fruit, or a small pasta course. The proportion sits between the European side plate and the Japanese mamezara: wide enough for a full breakfast, contained enough to keep the table composed.
Each piece is shaped from stoneware clay and fired at 1220 °C. The finished ceramic is food-safe. The interior is sprayed by hand with three glossy glazes in red, pink, and lilac, applied in successive passes so the transitions stay soft and never line up the same way twice. Because the spray is hand-guided, the position of each colour band shifts slightly from piece to piece.
Two plates set a breakfast table for two. Since the spray is guided by hand, the two plates in a pair never carry the same gradient, so a set reads as two related pieces rather than a matched duplicate.
