A set of four deep stoneware ramen bowls from the Otis series with a glossy black exterior glaze, made in Germany.
Each bowl is deep and steeply walled with a narrow foot, Ø 21.5 cm and H 9 cm. Four of them serve a full table: ramen with broth, noodles and toppings for everyone, or pho, udon, soups and stews without anyone waiting for a bowl to free up.
Every bowl is thrown individually on the potter's wheel from grey stoneware clay and fired at 1220 °C. At this temperature the body vitrifies and becomes food-safe without further sealing. The interior carries a transparent glossy glaze, and the exterior is partly covered with a glossy black glaze, so part of the bare grey clay stays visible. Because every bowl is glazed individually, the line where the black glaze meets the raw clay sits differently on each of the four.
For ramen nights for four, a soup course at a shared table, or as deep serving bowls for sides.
