Set of 8 - Breakfast Plate - Iceblue
Product Description
Eight stoneware breakfast plates in a glossy ice blue glaze, made in Germany.
The form is cylindrical and flat, with a vertical edge rather than a curved rim. At Ø 19 cm each plate holds a bread roll with butter and jam, a slice of cake with fruit, or a small pasta course. The proportion sits between the European side plate and the Japanese mamezara — wide enough for a full breakfast, contained enough to keep the table composed.
Each piece is shaped from stoneware clay and fired at 1220 °C. At this temperature the body vitrifies and becomes food-safe without further sealing. The interior is finished with a single ice blue glossy glaze that holds its colour evenly across the surface. As with all hand-glazed pieces, fine variations in surface and tone remain visible from plate to plate.
For breakfast, bread courses, pastries, fruit, or as side plates at dinner.

Every item is handcrafted in our pottery studio in Frankfurt by our workshop team of six.
It takes about 10 to 14 days to make each piece, depending on the season and weather. The process includes ten steps: wedging, throwing, trimming, stamping, sponging, first firing, sanding, glazing, second firing, and grinding, ensuring that each piece is ready to use.
We put a lot of care and precision into our work because any oversight means starting over, so our team collaborates closely, ensuring that every step runs smoothly. We focus on creating durable and functional ceramics that bring our love for this craft into your everyday life.

We focus on creating pottery that is both durable and crafted in a minimalistic yet cheerful style. Alongside our seasonal collections, we offer a core collection of timeless items that allow customers to build a sustainable collection over time.
We appreciate our community's feedback and use it to inform our collections, ensuring that our pieces resonate with those who use them while remaining true to our vision.
