Product Description
A stoneware vase from Viola Beuscher x Steffi Bauer, a limited collaboration between Frankfurt-based ceramicist Viola Beuscher and the Munich-based illustrator and textile designer Steffi Bauer, whose work often revolves around food, tables and shared meals. Here, Steffi draws motifs such as apples, flowers, a cake and other table objects by hand with a brown underglaze pencil before glazing.
The vase measures Ø 11 cm and H 23 cm – tall enough for a few long stems or a single branch, compact enough for a shelf, sideboard or table.
The whole vase, inside and out, is covered in a transparent glossy glaze. The brown pencil lines sit underneath it, sealed into the surface like a drawing under glass. Glazed inside, the vase holds water. Each vase is handcrafted and hand-drawn in Germany and fired at 1220 °C; because the illustration is drawn freehand, every piece is unique.
Limited edition: the whole collaboration comprises 150 cups and 30 vases; this design is limited to 15 pieces.
