Handmade stoneware cups sold in sets of two, four and six, from our studio in Frankfurt am Main. Every cup is thrown individually on the potter's wheel and fired at 1220 °C. At that temperature the body vitrifies and becomes food-safe without further sealing, and every set is dishwasher safe.
Which volume for which drink
Espresso cups hold 75 ml, coffee cups 180 to 190 ml depending on the series, tea cups 260 ml, and flat white cups 180 ml at a wider Ø 8.5 cm. Pick the volume by what you actually drink: a 75 ml cup keeps an espresso hot to the last sip, while 180 ml in a wide cup gives a flat white room for the milk.
Sets of two, four and six
A set of two covers a household of two. A set of four sets a table or replaces a mismatched everyday set in one go. The mixed sets of six pair different glazes from one series, so the table has variation without losing the shape.
Series and glazes
Nomi cups are cylindrical with straight walls, in creme, ice blue or with hand-painted black brushstrokes. The Happy Edition runs in splash red, blue gradient, lilac sky and smiley creme. Each cup is glazed by hand, so the cups inside one set are close but never identical.
Made in Germany
A set costs less than the same cups bought singly, and every cup is also sold on its own, so a set can be extended later.
