Ikebana Kenzan - 6 cm Diameter
Product Description
A kenzan, the pin frog used in ikebana to hold stems exactly where you place them. This one measures Ø 6 cm and weighs 150 g.
The weight is the point. A kenzan sits in the bottom of the vessel and stays put under the load of a branch, so a stem set at an angle holds that angle instead of sliding to the wall. The needles are closely set and rust-resistant, which lets them take thin stems and woody branches alike.
At 6 cm it is made for small vessels: a low bowl, a shallow dish, a narrow vase. Fill the vessel with water until the needles are covered and the frame disappears from view.
