Gelato Bowl Wavy Iceblue
Product Description
A small stoneware gelato bowl with a wavy rim, glazed inside and out in a glossy iceblue, made in Germany by Viola Beuscher.
The bowl measures Ø 12 cm and H 7,5 cm and weighs about 450 g. Iceblue is the coolest tone in the gelato range, and the pale, slightly translucent glaze reads almost like frosted glass next to a warm dessert, which is why this is the one that most often ends up holding sorbet.
Each bowl is thrown on the wheel from stoneware clay, and the rim is waved by hand while the clay is still soft. On the iceblue glaze the wave is easiest to see: the glaze thins over the crests and gathers in the dips, so the edge moves between pale and saturated blue around the bowl.
The body is fired until it vitrifies, so the bowl stays food-safe without further sealing and takes the dishwasher.

Every item is handcrafted in our pottery studio in Frankfurt by our workshop team of six.
It takes about 10 to 14 days to make each piece, depending on the season and weather. The process includes ten steps: wedging, throwing, trimming, stamping, sponging, first firing, sanding, glazing, second firing, and grinding, ensuring that each piece is ready to use.
We put a lot of care and precision into our work because any oversight means starting over, so our team collaborates closely, ensuring that every step runs smoothly. We focus on creating durable and functional ceramics that bring our love for this craft into your everyday life.
