Matcha Whisk Holder - Green - Seconds
Product Description
A stoneware matcha whisk holder (chasen stand) in a glossy deep green glaze with a hare left in raw stoneware reserve, from the Viola Beuscher studio, sold as a studio second at a reduced price.
The form is compact with a rounded cradle, Ø 5 cm and H 5 cm. It holds a bamboo whisk upright between uses, so the prongs dry in shape instead of flattening against a surface.
Seconds are pieces that left the kiln with a cosmetic flaw: a slight warp, an irregularity in the glaze, a fine hairline on the underside, or small clay specks in the surface. None of it affects use, and the piece is priced lower for it.
Each holder is thrown by hand from stoneware and fired until the body vitrifies, so it needs no further sealing and goes in the dishwasher. The whisk is not included.
