Product Description
A set of eight stoneware saucers in creme with a transparent glossy glaze, made in Germany.
Each saucer is shallow and flat, with a vertical edge rather than a curved rim. At Ø 11.5 cm one sits beneath an espresso cup, holds a tea bag, or works as a small dish for olives, salt, or condiments. Eight of them cover a full table without borrowing from the everyday set. The proportion follows the Japanese mamezara, the small bean plate used for individual servings at the table.
Each piece is shaped from stoneware clay and fired at 1220 °C. At that temperature the body vitrifies and becomes food-safe without further sealing. The surface carries a single transparent glossy glaze that lets the natural creme tone of the fired clay come through unaltered. Fine variations in surface and tone stay part of each piece, such as small pinholes or a marginally darker rim where the glaze settles.
For espresso, tea, small condiments, olives, or as side dishes for sauces and dips.

It takes about 10 to 14 days to make each piece, depending on the season and weather. The process includes ten steps: wedging, throwing, trimming, stamping, sponging, first firing, sanding, glazing, second firing, and grinding, ensuring that each piece is ready to use.
