Handmade espresso cups from the Viola Beuscher studio in Germany, made for the first coffee of the day and for quiet moments in between. Every cup is thrown on the potter's wheel from stoneware clay and fired at 1220 °C, so the body vitrifies and stays food-safe without further sealing.
Size and fit
The espresso cups hold 75 ml at Ø 5.5 cm and H 4.5 cm, the volume a single concentrated shot asks for. The compact form with straight walls and a stable base fits under the group head of a home espresso machine and keeps the crema intact on the way to the table.
Colours and surfaces
Depending on the series, the cups carry hand-painted black brush strokes on raw clay, a matte unglazed exterior, an even glaze in a single colour, or a spray-applied gradient. Every cup is thrown and finished by hand, so the surface differs slightly from piece to piece.
Sets, seconds, and care
Espresso cups are sold individually and as sets of two or four. Cups with a small cosmetic flaw are offered as seconds at a reduced price, and the flaw never affects use. All of them are dishwasher safe.
