Summer Days brings the bright end of our glaze range to the table for the long days of the season: cold drinks in the garden, slow breakfasts in the sun, and meals that move outdoors.
What is in the collection
For drinks there is the 800 ml carafe for water and juice, matcha cups and matcha sets for iced matcha, and Yun coffee cups in yellow, neon yellow, pink, red, green and ice blue. For the table there are egg cups, a lemon juicer at Ø 9 cm, breakfast bowls in the Wavy form with a hand-waved rim, the 30.5 cm serving bowl for salad and fruit, the 27 cm pedestal bowl, and 11.5 cm saucers for olives, dips and small snacks. Vases run from the 14.5 cm small vase up to the 22 cm big vase.
Colours
The palette is the loudest in the range: neon yellow, glossy pink, red, splash red, a cool ice blue and green, next to the permanent creme. The forms are the ones already in the collection, so a bright bowl or cup combines with everyday tableware instead of forming a separate summer set.
How the pieces are made
Every piece is thrown on the potter's wheel in our studio in Germany and fired at 1220 °C. At this temperature the stoneware body vitrifies and becomes food-safe without further sealing, and the tableware takes the dishwasher. Vases and the carafe hold water without further sealing; hand washing is recommended for those. Because each piece is thrown and glazed by hand, small differences in rim line, glaze depth and colour are normal and are not faults.
