Handmade stoneware bowls from our studio in Frankfurt am Main. Every bowl is thrown on the potter's wheel or built by hand and fired at 1220 °C. At that temperature the clay body vitrifies and becomes food-safe without any further sealing, and every bowl in this collection is dishwasher safe.
Which bowl for which course
The collection runs from Ø 10.5 cm to Ø 30.5 cm. Dessert dishes and mini bowls at Ø 10.5 to 13 cm hold dips, olives, nuts and desserts. Breakfast bowls at Ø 13 to 18 cm take muesli, yoghurt and small soups. Pasta bowls at Ø 18.5 to 22 cm are wide and low, so a portion spreads out instead of piling up. Dinner bowls at Ø 22 cm and H 4.5 cm sit between a deep plate and a bowl, wide enough for a full main course. Ramen bowls are the deep ones, Ø 20 to 21.5 cm at H 9 to 10 cm, built to hold broth, noodles and toppings at once. Serving bowls reach Ø 24.5 to 30.5 cm for a shared table.
Glazes and surfaces
Most bowls carry a transparent glossy glaze inside. On the outside they are either glazed in the same finish, left raw so the fired clay stays open to the touch, or covered in a single colour such as ice blue, creme, pink, yellow or red. The Otis series adds black brushstrokes painted on by hand, and because each bowl is brushed individually, no two carry the same rhythm.
Care
All bowls are dishwasher safe and food-safe without sealing. Small differences in size, glaze thickness and tone are part of hand-thrown work and are not defects.
Sets, seconds and samples
Sets of four are available for the Nomi, Otis and Neo forms. Studio seconds and samples carry small cosmetic flaws, a slight warp, a glaze irregularity or a fine hairline crack on the underside, and are offered at reduced prices. All of them are fully functional. Made in Germany.
