Product Description
The Coffee Cup Smiley is handmade in our Frankfurt studio and thrown on the potter’s wheel. The shape is clean and cylindrical, with straight walls and balanced proportions. Several smiley motifs are embossed directly into the clay. The embossing is created while the clay is leather hard and becomes a permanent part of the surface. The detailing is precise and integrated into the material.
The exterior remains unglazed, highlighting the natural matte texture of the stoneware. The interior is finished with a transparent, food safe glaze. We use food safe glazes only. The Coffee Cup Smiley is suitable for everyday use in both private kitchens and professional café settings. It is dishwasher safe.
Designed for specialty coffee, this cup works well for espresso, flat white, cappuccino and filter coffee. It can also be used for batch brew, hand brew or cold brew. The proportions provide a balanced volume and a stable grip.
Handmade and handcrafted in Germany. Each piece is individually inspected. Slight variations in shape and surface are characteristic of the made by hand production process.

Every item is handcrafted in our pottery studio in Frankfurt by our workshop team of six.
It takes about 10 to 14 days to make each piece, depending on the season and weather. The process includes ten steps: wedging, throwing, trimming, stamping, sponging, first firing, sanding, glazing, second firing, and grinding, ensuring that each piece is ready to use.
We put a lot of care and precision into our work because any oversight means starting over, so our team collaborates closely, ensuring that every step runs smoothly. We focus on creating durable and functional ceramics that bring our love for this craft into your everyday life.
